Food and beverages are fashionable. Consumer brands have been dropping a variety of fashion and sneaker collaborations. However, the latest food collaborations are with jewelry designers. For Valentine’s Day this year, Kay Jewelers and Godiva joined forces on the GODIVA x Le Vian Chocolate Diamond three-piece special-edition collection. Inspired by Godiva’s chocolate, the Ganache Heart features chocolate diamonds on a 14K honey gold chain while the Strawberry and Chocolate Heart necklace contains passion rubies, chocolate diamonds, and white diamonds, on a 14K strawberry gold chain. The Truffle Pendant incorporates chocolate diamonds and nude diamonds with a 14K honey gold chain. Hidden Valley Ranch creates unusual limited-edition over-the-top collaborations such as its RanchNog Kit last year. In 2018, as part of a twitter contest, Hidden Valley Ranch worked with an A-list celebrity jeweler and designed a $35,000 glass dressing bottle encrusted with diamonds, sapphires, and 18K white gold, etched with the Hidden Valley logo. This year, the brand is at it again with its own lab-grown “Ranch diamond.” To make the diamond, the iconic Hidden Valley Ranch seasoning is heated to 2,500 degrees and then the output is crushed beneath 400 tons of pressure. Angie’s Boomchickapop and jewelry designer Stephanie Gottlieb collaborate to create the first-ever “popcorn-cut diamond ring.” According to the press release, “the stone’s Y-Z color nears the ‘fancy yellow’ category on the official GIA Color Scale which brings a buttered popcorn-esque light yellow hue to the diamond.” The limited rings can be custom ordered starting at $50,000 and are packaged in a custom ring box hand-painted by Danielle Becker Stern, founder of the creative studio Lefty’s Right Mind.
