APRICOT IS ON THE RADAR EMERGING AS A SPRING FLAVOR

According to National Agricultural Statistics Service, in 2020, fresh apricots reached $24 million, while processed apricots reached $10 million. Apricot is on the radar emerging as a spring flavor in beverages. For Red Bull’s Summer Edition, the brand debuted a Strawberry Apricot flavor, which is described as a “special summer taste of strawberry, apricot and a touch of peach.” It launched at Walmart in April and will be available at retailers nationwide in May. Vybes offers an Adaptogenic Mood Enhancer beverage line made with ashwagandha, l-theanine, rhodiola, elderberry, and zinc in three varieties: Apricot Lemon, Pineapple Ginger, and Watermelon Lime. The Apricot Lemon features Turkish apricot juice, lemon juice, and the adaptogenic blend. Roots Original Apricot Kernel Drink is a new Taiwanese plant-based milk that is formulated with 6% ground apricot kernels. Michelob ULTRA Organic Seltzer has expanded its Classic Collection with the launch of three new flavors: Citrus, Mango Apricot, and Mixed Berry. The Mango Apricot flavor is “a sweet sensation made with real fruit juice and no added sugar.”

Keep your eyes peeled for more apricot flavors used in new non-alcoholic and alcoholic spring beverage launches.
