Aloha Summer Pineapple. Nothing says summer-like tropical fruit flavors. And this summer individuals are sipping on pineapple beverages making pineapple the hottest sweet and tart beverage flavor this season. From pineapple flavored waters and sport drinks to adult beverages, pineapple is the “it” fruit in both non-alcoholic and low alcoholic bottled drinks.
Pineapple Beverages
Pepsi released Pineapple Pepsi and features the classic Pepsi flavor mixed with a splash of pineapple juice. AriZona added Pineapple to its Fruit Juice Cocktail line, making it the sixth flavor. For kids, Kraft Heinz unveiled Creative Roots, a coconut water-based beverage sweetened with stevia in four flavors. Orange Pineapple is one of the varieties. Taco Bell added a Pineapple Whip Freeze drink to its summer menu, which is a combination of juicy pineapple flavors and sweet vanilla creamer.
Bubbly Pineapple Non-Alcoholic Drinks
Sparkling non-alcoholic drinks with pineapple flavors are popular beverages this season. Perrier launched Perrier Pineapple and the sparkling water is infused with a “tropical, summery flavor” while Spindrift expanded its portfolio with the launch of its newest flavor Pineapple. According to the brand, the sparkling water is made with Costa Rican pineapple and is non-GMO verified, kosher, and certified gluten-free. DRY Botanical Bubbly debuted its limited-edition 2020 Summer Celebration bottles in Pineapple and Watermelon flavors. The DRY Botanical Bubbly Pineapple Summer Celebration is self-described as “a ripe, citrusy flavor that resembles a tropical paradise.”
Pineapple Pre-Workout and Post-Workout Beverages
In the nutrition sports arena, Nooma introduced four Organic Pre-Workout Energy Beverages and Pineapple Mango is one of the flavors. Similarly, Ascent released Recovery Water, “a revolutionary water-based beverage that pairs high-quality protein with electrolytes” in Pineapple Coconut and Watermelon varieties used post-workout.
Pineapple Low Alcoholic Bottled Drinks and Hard Seltzers
Molson Coors added Vizzy Hard Seltzer to its lineup, which is formulated with superfruit acerola cherry that is touted for its high vitamin C content. With a 5% ABV, it is offered in four flavors: Black Cherry Lime, Blueberry Pomegranate, Pineapple Mango, and Strawberry Kiwi. In addition, Molson Coors’ Leinenkugel brand launched the Spritzen line and Pineapple Strawberry is one of three variants. Malibu Splash, a sparkling malt beverage, is Malibu Rum’s newest Ready-To-Drink adult beverage. It is offered in four 5% ABV flavors: Lime, Passion Fruit, Pineapple, and Strawberry.
